Wilburton north
Location: Bellevue, Washington
Client: Alliance Residential
Wilburton North is a proposed eight-story multifamily development in the newly-established Wilburton Transit-Oriented Development area that overlooks downtown Bellevue. The long, triangular-shaped site provides an extensive frontage along NE 12th Street, allowing for an elongated public pocket park with a dense buffer around the residential courtyard at the ground level. The pocket park features a winding path, seating, pergolas, and lawn area. The private courtyard is partially over the garage structure below, and features two main spaces; a gaming area with artificial lawn and integrated game tables with seating, and an outdoor kitchen with BBQs, seating, firepit, and dining area. The frontage along 116th Avenue NE on the west side of the site is more urban, with a retail space and bus stop. The Level 2 private patios are partially buffered on the south with large integrated planters with a variety of trees, shrubs, and groundcover. A partially covered roof deck on Level 8 features another outdoor kitchen, and firepit with seating.
At the east corner of the site, several large trees are preserved, as well as a pedestrian connection from the right-of-way downhill to the corner of the adjacent site for their right-of-way access. Two bioplanters on site treat stormwater. Wide proposed sidewalks and bike racks at the retail and residential entrances promote multimodal transportation.
