This proposed 6-story mixed-use building in The Streets of Tanasbourne retail development in Hillsboro, Oregon features a large, private interior courtyard with central swimming pool, outdoor BBQ’s, overhead string lighting and fire pit with lounge seating on artificial lawn. Integrated bioretention around the courtyard provides privacy for the unit patios. The frontage along NE Cornell Road takes advantage of the existing retaining wall to step up to the building, as well as providing several new trees that work in tandem with the retained existing street trees to provide a buffer for the residents from the busy road. Once inside The Streets of Tanasbourne development, sidewalks and stairs connecting to plaza spaces with benches and outdoor retail space, integrating into the fabric of The Streets. Stepped integrated planters at the north side of the building and integrated bioretention provide lush landscape that help screen the private patios from the adjacent road.
